Rules and procedures

How the OROBO network is moderated.

In short: stay factual, nothing illegal, no unrelated advertising. Every post can be reported. A person decides, gives reasons and accepts appeals.

As of 6 November 2026

These rules and procedures are part of the network’s terms of use (terms § 6d and § 11).

The German version of these rules is authoritative.

Network rules

  1. N1 · Be factual and do not pose as another person or company. Real or company name recommended, pseudonyms allowed.
  2. N2 · Nothing illegal: no third-party trade secrets, no copyright infringement, no personal data of others.
  3. N3 · No unrelated advertising. Mentioning your own product is fine if it fits the question and you disclose it.
  4. N4 · No hate, harassment or threats.
  5. N5 · Back figures and claims with a source; label vendor figures as such.
  6. N6 · Contact requests only with a concrete reason, without links, at most five per day.
  7. N7 · Posts reported by several people are temporarily hidden until a human reviews them.
  8. N8 · Links from new profiles appear after a short review.

Limits: posts up to 4,000 characters with at most three links, editable for 24 hours after posting. Contact requests 20 to 600 characters without links, at most five per day. Collaboration listings at most three per day and ten open at a time, listed for 60 days. New profiles — younger than three days or with fewer than three visible posts — have tighter limits (two contact requests and one listing per day).

Reporting

Every post, listing, profile and AI summary has a “Report” button; messages can be reported by those taking part. This also works without an account — then with an email address (name optional) so we can tell you the decision. State the reason, explain it as precisely as possible (for infringements: which right) and confirm that your notice is accurate as far as you know. You receive a reference number right away. The reported person is not told who reported.

Reasons: Illegal content · Copyright or trademark · Personal data without consent · Fraud or deception · Hate or incitement · Harassment · Spam or advertising · Misleading claims · Other

Decisions and reasons

Possible measures: No action · Hidden from public view · Removed · Account restricted · Account suspended · Restored.

Anyone affected learns under “My network → My cases” the measure, the facts, the basis (law or numbered network rule) and whether the decision was automated. Those who reported learn the outcome there or by email. Only these things happen automatically: posts and listings with links from new profiles are held for a short review (N8); a text posted by several profiles on the same day is held as well; a post reported by three different signed-in people is temporarily hidden until a human review (N7); plus the limits above. A person always makes the final decision, carefully, objectively and with regard to freedom of expression and information. Every decision is logged.

Appeals and dispute resolution

Those affected and those who reported can appeal any decision for six months — signed in under “My network → My cases”, otherwise by replying to our email. A person reviews the case again and gives reasons for the outcome. You can also turn to a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body under Art. 21 DSA; the competent authority in Germany is the Bundesnetzagentur as Digital Services Coordinator. bundesnetzagentur.de

Point of contact (Art. 11 and 12 DSA)

For authorities, the EU Commission, the European Board for Digital Services and users: info@orobo.co · Oroboros Design, Daouda Ndiaye, Eulenbergstraße 22, 51065 Köln. Languages: German, English. No phone support — we reply in writing.

How OROBO suggests partners (Art. 27 DSA)

Under a listing, OROBO shows up to four profiles and four listings. Criteria: the same branch; for profiles a role that fits the type (e.g. pilot → companies, manufacturers, integrators), for listings the opposite direction (looking for ↔ offering). Profiles are ranked by reputation (1 point per “helpful”, 10 points per collaboration confirmed by both sides), then by profile age; listings by recency. Nobody can buy their way into suggestions. Lists and rooms are sorted by time, without personalisation.

AI in the network

OROBO summarises discussions from five posts onwards. The summary is labelled as an AI summary, names no people and no links and can be reported. OROBO writes no posts in the name of people, and there are no invented profiles.

Data

Only your name with company, role and confirmations, your voluntary profile details, your posts and your open listings are public. Your email address, contact requests and messages stay private. Profile pages are not opened to search engines. You can delete your network profile at any time: your name, profile details and the text of your posts and messages are removed at once, and open listings are closed. We delete the text of closed listings and of your contact requests at once on request by email, otherwise at the latest 12 months after closing. Reports and decisions are kept for 12 months after the last decision. Privacy policy
