About the category

What it is

AI servers are rack systems with several GPUs or AI accelerators, fast memory and high-performance networking. They are the basis for training your own models or serving language and vision models to many users at once. Unlike the cloud, data stays in-house and costs do not depend on usage.

What companies use them for

  • Serving language models to the whole workforce, for example as an internal chat assistant.
  • Training or fine-tuning your own models on company data.
  • Central image and video analysis for many cameras.
  • Simulation and research, for example in robotics or materials development.

What to look for when buying

  1. Memory per GPU and total memory determine which model sizes will run.
  2. Power, cooling (air or liquid) and rack space in the data centre.
  3. Fast GPU-to-GPU and server-to-server links if training spans several machines.
  4. Software support for the accelerator, on-site service, export rules and lead time.

Integration & effortEffort: high

Before ordering, clarify power, cooling and networking with the data centre. Then come installation, operating system, drivers and a platform such as Kubernetes or Slurm, plus access rights and monitoring. Ongoing operation needs a team or service provider to handle updates and outages.

Software that fits

Licence details without guarantee — the project’s own licence is authoritative. We can set up and integrate it for you at a fixed price.

Simulation

How it runs in your operation

A simplified, typical sequence — not a recording of a real deployment.

  1. Models, number of users and data protection determine the size.

  2. Rack installation with power, cooling and network connection.

  3. Set up the platform, load models, control access.

  4. Keep an eye on utilisation, response times and costs.

Brokering

How brokering works

  1. 01Request

Add the product to your request and tell us quantity, goal and timing. Free and without obligation.

  2. 02OROBO checks and obtains the quote

We check your need and intended use, screen buyer and seller against EU and US sanctions lists and obtain the quote from the manufacturer or its dealer. Your contact details only go to the seller with your consent.

  3. 03You buy directly from the manufacturer or its dealer

Contract, payment, delivery and warranty run directly between you and the seller. OROBO is neither seller nor importer and does not accept payments for goods.

Free for you: the seller alone sets the price. OROBO may receive a commission from the seller — on request we tell you whether and how much; it influences neither recommendations nor order. For now we broker for buyers in the EU, the EEA, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. Export rules may apply to this manufacturer’s products; export licences are the seller’s responsibility.
