About the category

What it is

Grippers and actuators sit at the end of a robot arm or form a robot’s joints. The range spans electric parallel and vacuum grippers, tools such as screwdrivers and sanders, multi-fingered robot hands and servo motors. The gripper often decides more about an application’s success than the arm itself.

What companies use them for

  • Machine tending: loading blanks and removing finished parts.
  • Packing and palletising with vacuum grippers.
  • Screwdriving, sanding or polishing with tools mounted on the cobot.
  • Dexterous grasping in research and lab automation with robot hands.

What to look for when buying

  1. Grip force, stroke and own weight matched to the workpiece and the arm’s payload.
  2. Mechanical and electrical interface to the arm: flange, connector, software plug-in.
  3. Surface and shape of the parts: smooth, porous, delicate or varying.
  4. Quick-change fingers or tool changers if there are many variants.

Integration & effortEffort: low

On common cobots a gripper can often be mounted and set up quickly via a plug-in. Custom fingers, tests with real parts and the risk assessment of the whole cell take more effort. Robot hands for research additionally require programming via SDK or ROS 2.

Software that fits

Licence details without guarantee — the project’s own licence is authoritative. We can set up and integrate it for you at a fixed price.

Simulation

How it runs in your operation

A simplified, typical sequence — not a recording of a real deployment.

  1. The workpiece’s shape, weight and surface are recorded.

  2. Jaw, vacuum or tool solution to suit the part.

  3. Mount it, install the plug-in and teach grip points on the cobot.

  4. Trial run with real parts, then release for the line.

Brokering

How brokering works

  1. 01Request

Add the product to your request and tell us quantity, goal and timing. Free and without obligation.

  2. 02OROBO checks and obtains the quote

We check your need and intended use, screen buyer and seller against EU and US sanctions lists and obtain the quote from the manufacturer or its dealer. Your contact details only go to the seller with your consent.

  3. 03You buy directly from the manufacturer or its dealer

Contract, payment, delivery and warranty run directly between you and the seller. OROBO is neither seller nor importer and does not accept payments for goods.

Free for you: the seller alone sets the price. OROBO may receive a commission from the seller — on request we tell you whether and how much; it influences neither recommendations nor order. For now we broker for buyers in the EU, the EEA, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. Terms § 6b · Disclosure
