About the category

What it is

Industrial drones carry cameras, thermal cameras or LiDAR and capture large areas and hard-to-reach spots without scaffolding or aerial work platforms. Some systems take off automatically from a docking station and recharge there. The data is turned into orthophotos, 3D models and inspection reports.

What companies use them for

  • Inspecting roofs, façades, bridges and wind turbines.
  • Surveying construction sites and terrain, calculating volumes and progress.
  • Checking solar parks and power lines with thermal imaging.
  • Monitoring plant sites regularly and automatically from a docking station.

What to look for when buying

  1. Sensors to suit the task: zoom, thermal or LiDAR.
  2. Accuracy (RTK) and flight time for the planned area.
  3. Legal framework: operating category under EU drone rules, class label, proof of competence.
  4. Data sovereignty: where recordings are stored and whether operation without the cloud is possible.

Integration & effortEffort: medium

Besides the device you need trained pilots, the right proof of competence and, where applicable, an operational authorisation. Add flight planning, processing software and a process for feeding results into maintenance or site management. Automated flights from a docking station usually require an authorisation in the specific category.

Software that fits

Simulation

How it runs in your operation

A simplified, typical sequence — not a recording of a real deployment.

  1. Define the area, accuracy and permits.

  2. The drone flies the route and captures data.

  3. An orthophoto, 3D model or thermal map is produced.

  4. Mark damage and send a report to maintenance or site management.

Brokering

How brokering works

  1. 01Request

Add the product to your request and tell us quantity, goal and timing. Free and without obligation.

  2. 02OROBO checks and obtains the quote

We check your need and intended use, screen buyer and seller against EU and US sanctions lists and obtain the quote from the manufacturer or its dealer. Your contact details only go to the seller with your consent.

  3. 03You buy directly from the manufacturer or its dealer

Contract, payment, delivery and warranty run directly between you and the seller. OROBO is neither seller nor importer and does not accept payments for goods.

Free for you: the seller alone sets the price. OROBO may receive a commission from the seller — on request we tell you whether and how much; it influences neither recommendations nor order. For now we broker for buyers in the EU, the EEA, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. Export rules may apply to this manufacturer’s products; export licences are the seller’s responsibility.
