About the category

What it is

Exoskeletons are worn on the body and relieve specific muscle groups — passively via springs or actively via motors and sensors. Industrial models assist with lifting or overhead work; medical exoskeletons help people walk in rehabilitation. Medical systems are medical devices and follow their own rules.

What companies use them for

  • Easing lifting and carrying in logistics, warehousing and production.
  • Making overhead work easier in assembly and trades.
  • Gait training in clinics and rehabilitation centres.
  • Supporting care staff when repositioning patients.

What to look for when buying

  1. Fit and comfort for different body sizes over a full shift.
  2. Which movement is supported and whether it matches the actual task.
  3. Medical or industrial: check approval and intended purpose.
  4. Hygiene, battery life, data collection and works-council co-determination.

Integration & effortEffort: low

There is little to integrate technically; acceptance is what counts: trials with employees, instruction, hygiene and charging concept. If an active system records movement data, involve data protection and the works council early. Medical exoskeletons are usually introduced with staff training by the manufacturer.

Software that fits

  • OpenSim (opens in a new tab)Open source · Apache-2.0Biomechanics simulation from Stanford University for assessing load and support on the body.

Operating and analysis software is usually supplied by the manufacturer.

Licence details without guarantee — the project’s own licence is authoritative. We can set up and integrate it for you at a fixed price.

Simulation

How it runs in your operation

A simplified, typical sequence — not a recording of a real deployment.

  1. Which movements put the most strain on employees?

  2. A passive or active system for exactly that movement.

  3. Trial shifts with volunteers, collect feedback.

  4. Instruction, hygiene and charging concept, regular review.

Brokering

How brokering works

  1. 01Request

Add the product to your request and tell us quantity, goal and timing. Free and without obligation.

  2. 02OROBO checks and obtains the quote

We check your need and intended use, screen buyer and seller against EU and US sanctions lists and obtain the quote from the manufacturer or its dealer. Your contact details only go to the seller with your consent.

  3. 03You buy directly from the manufacturer or its dealer

Contract, payment, delivery and warranty run directly between you and the seller. OROBO is neither seller nor importer and does not accept payments for goods.

Free for you: the seller alone sets the price. OROBO may receive a commission from the seller — on request we tell you whether and how much; it influences neither recommendations nor order. For now we broker for buyers in the EU, the EEA, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. Terms § 6b · Disclosure
